Artistry in Action

I have been working on art about modern life: the pandemic, protests, machinations of the political world, global devastation of climate change, and innovations in science.

I have been exploring these topics using polymer and oil paints, inks, watercolors, color pencils, intaglio prints, cut papers, wood, concrete, plaster, steel, and altered books.

I believe that we all have a responsibility to work for positive change: to create the world we want to live in and for future generations. Environmental justice work is racial justice work.

I am committed to doing ethical and kind justice work in both my professional and private life.

With these ideas in mind, we have created a community studio space where participants can experiment with art materials and techniques. It is called the South Brooklyn Art Studio.
